When do Duo Mobile activation codes expire?
Manual activation and reactivation
When manually activating or reactivating Duo Mobile for a user’s device (see step 8 of “Manual Enrollment” here), you can configure the maximum expiration time of Duo Mobile activation codes. Codes can be configured to expire up to a maximum of 30 days (720 hours) after they are sent to the user.
If a lengthier expiration time is attempted, the following error message will be displayed:
“Activation codes cannot be valid for more than 30 days.”
Activation via the banner notification
If you send the activation links via the banner notification at the top of the Users page that says “You have users who have not activated Duo Mobile. Click here to send them activation links,” then the link expiration is set to 24 hours, and cannot be changed. To adjust the expiration time, you must send the activation links using a different method.
